Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 10 July 2026
Draft – pending legal review by the operator.
1. Scope and provider
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Joatra web application in its free version (“Joatra Free”) and its paid subscription (“Joatra Pro”). They apply to consumers within the meaning of §13 BGB as well as, where applicable, to business users within the meaning of §14 BGB.
Provider and operator of Joatra:
Christian M. LuxBauernwaldstraße 136
70195 Stuttgart
Germany
Email: christian@cmlux.dev
2. Description of services
Joatra helps you with your job search and applications: managing jobs and application status, recruiter contacts, and AI-assisted creation of CVs and cover letters.
Joatra Free can be used free of charge and is subject to weekly usage caps: 3 CVs, 3 cover letters, 15 AI text adjustments, 60 AI job matchings, 50 Smart Search searches, and 5 job imports per calendar week.
Joatra Pro is a paid subscription for 9.99 € per month or 99 € per year (each including statutory VAT) and raises the weekly usage caps: 50 CVs, 50 cover letters, 300 AI text adjustments, 600 AI job matchings, 400 Smart Search searches, and 60 job imports per calendar week.
Joatra is in public beta. Individual features may change, be temporarily limited, or be discontinued; see section 8.
Content generated by the AI (CVs, cover letters, text adjustments, matching scores) is a draft and suggestion. You are responsible for reviewing and, if necessary, adjusting it before any use — in particular before sending it to an employer.
3. Contract formation and payment processing via Paddle
The usage agreement for Joatra Free is formed between you and the operator when you register an account.
To purchase Joatra Pro, you are redirected during checkout to our payment processor Paddle(Paddle.com Market Ltd or Paddle Payments Limited, together “Paddle”). Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record: the contract for the paid service (purchase of the subscription) is formed between you and Paddle as the seller, not with the operator personally. Paddle issues the invoice, processes the payment, remits the applicable VAT, and handles refunds. The Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms apply in addition: paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
The usage agreement for the Joatra software itself (access, feature scope, raised usage caps) remains separately in place between you and the operator, and is extended with the Pro features upon successful purchase through Paddle.
4. Prices
Current prices for Joatra Pro are shown on the /pricing page (currently 9.99 € per month or 99 € per year, each including statutory VAT). Price changes for future subscriptions are shown before contract formation and do not apply retroactively to billing periods already in progress.
5. Term, renewal, and cancellation
Joatra Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription. It renews automatically for the same period (month or year) unless cancelled before the end of the current term. There is no minimum term beyond the current billing period.
You can cancel at any time, independently, via the Paddle customer portal (access sent by email after purchase, and linked from your account). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term — there is no pro-rata refund of periods already paid, without prejudice to the money-back guarantee under section 6 and the statutory right of withdrawal (see Right of Withdrawal).
After the cancelled term ends, your account is automatically downgraded to Joatra Free; your data remains unaffected.
6. 30-day money-back guarantee
In addition to your statutory rights, we voluntarily grant a 30-day money-back guarantee: if Joatra Pro isn’t for you, an informal email to christian@cmlux.dev within 30 days of purchase is enough — you get the full purchase price back. This guarantee exists independently of, and in addition to, the statutory right of withdrawal (see Right of Withdrawal).
7. User obligations
When using Joatra, you agree to
- keep your login credentials confidential and not hand your account to third parties for their use,
- not misuse Joatra — for example through automated scraping, deliberately circumventing usage caps via multiple accounts, or attacks on the technical infrastructure,
- not create or distribute unlawful, abusive content, or content that infringes third-party rights, through Joatra,
- provide truthful information about yourself at registration and in your profile.
8. Availability and warranty (beta status)
Joatra is in public beta. We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee it — for example due to maintenance, ongoing development, or outages of integrated third-party services (e.g. Firebase, Google Gemini, Adzuna, Paddle). There is no entitlement to a specific level of availability.
Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health.
For slightly negligent breaches of material contractual obligations (cardinal obligations, i.e. obligations whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely), liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.
Beyond that, liability for slightly negligent damage is excluded. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.
10. Data protection
For information on the processing of personal data, including in connection with payment processing via Paddle, see our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these Terms with effect for the future, for example due to changes in the law or in our service offering. We will inform you of material changes in good time, for example by email. The current version is always available on this page.
12. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this applies only to the extent that it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the state in which they have their habitual residence.
Should individual provisions of these Terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
Note under §36 VSBG (German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act): We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
